The “World” of Krautrock

Possibly the worst, low-budget, 90′s cover ever.
And it couldn’t be a less comprehensive representation of Krautrock as a genre.
(if I remember correctly, this label had an extensive series of equally bizarre “World of” comps..)
However….
I rediscovered it in my dusty collection of CDs, and it rocked my ‘world’
I can’t believe that Wallenstein’s Mother Universe and Birth Control’s Operation aren’t widely regarded as some of the best albums of the 70′s.
Thank you, weird, German, 90′s comp for bringing these albums into my life.

Never ever heard of Krautrock in my life and that is amazing since I grew up in Holland near the German border. Lots of Kraut, lots of rock…combining it makes sense!
You’re right, that is cheesy. Two MJ leafs, a lizard and a peace symbol. WTF? I think I’ll show that to my stony friends the next time I’m in NY doing bong hits.
