A most perplexing makeover courtesy of ZZ Top.

Who knew the strip mall could be a metaphor for life?

A three-piece blues band from Texas that was around since the late 60s, inserting itself into American 80s new wave pastel-colored youth culture, adding a synth sound, and… getting away with it. You gotta love that!

I grow a beard every winter but decided not to this year. People used to ask, why? and when are you going to shave it? I used to tell them I want to grow it like ZZ Top, as long as I can and then cut it straight across. Usually they said “cool man” ha ha. My ex wife? I wish you would shave that beard. So I shaved it when I had planned too. Her reaction? It took her nearly two weeks to notice. One day she looked at me, her eyes got real big and she said “you shaved your beard!!!” Obviously, we’re no longer married!

ZZ Top rules. Even Billy Gibbons earlier band The Moving Sidewalks was rad…anyway, just came across your blog and like it very much. Are you in NY?
