Bruce Dickinson’s hair is a very important part of Iron Maiden.
Before I got into Maiden, the only thing images that came to mind about the band were Native Americans and the lead singer’s hair.
I am willing to make the bold assertion that it is, in fact, the best hair in heavy metal.
We primarily think of Bruce’s coif from 1982, classic Number of The Beast-era. However, some interesting variations occurred over the years.
Here’s a time-line of the development of metal’s #1 ‘do:

Ian Astbury had some excellent follicular arrangements, the ironing board hair a highlight. Admittedly he was on the goth/hard rock side of things much of the time.
Candlemass score highly in the mullet and fuzz arenas.
Lady, as always, you are a woman after my own heart! I love the love you have for Iron Maiden. You make me swoon my dear.
Great site! I too am a fan of NWOBHM.
Also, do you wanna affiliate with me? I really like your content on this blog and mine also contains/will contain metal-related stuff!

OMG what is this site? I’ve been an Iron Maiden fan since 1980 and I supppose back then, the hair looked normal for that time. I guess Brucie knows how to keep up with the times…???
Ahah, Awesome
I’m a girl and I was jealous of Brucie’s hair in the “Shoot all the clowns” music video.. It just flowed.. I have.. Harris type hair.. >_<
