Venom are one the most influential in heavy metal history.
Their 1981 release, ‘Black Metal’, inspired an entire genre of music.
Like all great bands they had a unique concept. The subject matter was pure evil and the music was fast and harsh. They stripped down existing elements of heavy metal in a way that had never been done before. All while performing under the genius stage names: Cronos, Abbadon, and Mantas.
Countless rock scholars have written about the scope of their musical influence….none, I believe, have gone where I’m about to go….Venom as a fashion icon..
hot pants, spandex, suspenders, thigh high boots, studs, bullets, chains, skulls, wrestling boots……pretty much an inventory of my closet.
If only I could go topless….
And here are the boys in action!
