My previous post got me thinking….
New music is generally some 3rd rate copy of great artists from the past.
However, there are two peculiar trends of the 1970’s which no one seems to have caught on to…
I request that someone please revive one , or ideally both, of the following trends:
#1: Name your band after a key member (last names only please)
Popular in Hard Rock. example: Montrose, Gillan, Argent et al
#2. Name a song after your band.
Popular in Heavy Metal. example: Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Angel Witch et al
Thank you for your cooperation.

If I had a cool last name like DIO I would absolutely name my metal band after myself. However, SMITH just doesn’t sound that cool or tough. Maybe I should change my last name to Stalin or Blitzer.

Exactly!!
But Smith might be kind of cool….

What about naming your band after a song and naming a song after your last name?

JESSUP should be a power trio from 1974 involving sweatpants tucked into socks. you know liek rush but on the guitarist instead of the bassist. and more like slade than rush. is anyone feeling me on this? somebody contact an agent… heres the guitar that should be played: http://www.jvguitars.com/images/81MatsumokuNeckThrewFF335.jpg
